Official Midlands Comic Collective NEWS Update 05/03/2011 Hey there! We have a few events coming up. The closest one being the Birmingham Memorabilia Show at the Birmingham NEC on 26 - 27 March 2011. We are also attending the London MCM Expo on the 27 - 29 May 2011. Hope to see you there :o) We also have some website news! The MC² (Midlands Comics Collective) website is in the process of a major re-vamp! Not much to say about it just yet but there is excitement on what it will contain. One feature is a newsletter you can subscribe to so not only will you be told of our future events via email but also you will be updated when a member of MC² updates their section of our new site with their latest work. Stay tuned for more! Remember we are on Facebook if you want to join our group on there. Just click HERE. Update 19/08/2010 We are still alive!! Sorry we haven't had many updates recently. We are being pro active and plan to have a number of individual publications out in October when we will be attending BICS (British International Comics Show). More on these projects soon. Update 13/02/2010 Belated Happy New year, folks! We're SERIOUSLY due for an update... and we hope to have some new comics news soon (there are murmers of more publications amongst the collective and people are interested in having something new for BICS 2010). We have a Facebook group should that be of conveniance to some people to check for news. To find up on facebook click HERE or search for "MC² (Midlands Comics Collective)" and join for updates on our meeting sketches, meeting dates, and future projects. Update 09/12/2008 Well well... Christmas is almost here! We had a successful run at BICS this year and since then we've decided on a new anthology which we will announce soon. If you're stuck for Christmas presents feel free to buy friends and loved ones copies of our comics. Just click SHOP and you will be taken to choose what comic you want to buy. If you want to view some selected pages from each of our comics click "Previews" to see some virtual comics of ours that you can literally flick through. Incidentally if you are a company, organisation, or Governing body or even linked with children or young people's services/education and are interested in getting in touch with regards to our work just click on where it says "Email". Update 03/08/2008 MC² will be appearing at the Telford MCM Expo on 13 Sept 2008. Not only that but we shall be running and judging the Artists gallery on the day too! Come say hello and have a gander at our comics. Some of us will be doing sketches. Update 07/08/2008 Has been a while since our last update... but what an update it is! First of all the website has had a slight re-vamp which not only includes the new MC² logo, which has appeared on our last two publications, but also the option to buy our wonderful comics straight from this site. Click on the SHOP link to purchase our little narrative gems! ...also, as a special treat for you all, there's a PREVIEWS section where you can scan through a few select pages from each of our comics so you can see what you are missing (and it saves you feeling intimidated when trying to browse our comics at either the Comics Expo or Brum Comics Show. hehe! Finally... if you're on Facebook, and who isn't these days, we have a MC² group on their for anyone to join and be kept up-to-date with our goings on. Update 10/05/2008 We shall be at the Bristol Comics Expo this weekend selling our latest comic "A Legion Of Stupid Heroes" for £1.99. Come find our table and say hello. ...and buy our lovely comic books!! ;o) Update 16/04/08 Our collective grows ever bigger (I'm telling ya... Birmingham, UK is the place to be for up coming comics) and as such our "Meet The Collective" section slowly gets longer. Check out our newest members and if you've visited this site before then you can play "who's the newby" game. Our very own Laura and Matt have set off to New York to the New York Comic Con. If we're lucky we'll hopefully have some photos to upload here soon! Our newest comic book "A Legion Of Stupid Heroes" is back from the printer and shall be available to buy from us at the Bristol COmic Expo on May 10 & 11. (If time permits maybe even sooner if we can add Paypal links to this site for an online shop). News 06/04/08 Belated Happy New Year to all! We would of wished you New years greetings sooner but our ISP has been a pain to upload our webpage updates. Fingers crossed it's going to be okay now. Our next comic book anthology, A Legion Of Stupid Heroes, is complete and due to be sent off to our printers shortly. This anthology will be available at the Bristol Comic Expo in May. We're also looking into setting up a paypal account so you can buy our wonderful comic books via this site - we'll keep you posted on that. News 14/10/07 Another comic con over and some nice money to fund more comics! Thanks to all who stopped by our table and bought our new comic GHOSTS. Photos from the event will be up on the website and the myspace profile soon. Check back later to see them! News 10/10/07 Our latest comic anthology "GHOSTS" has arrived back from the printers and will be available to buy at the BICS (Birmingham International Comic Show). Even as we speak plans and progress for a new table display are being put into action so feel free to pop by our table at the BICS and say HI and buy a copy of GHOSTS. We'll have the usual copies of MC² and The MiX available to buy and the collective will be there to sign copies of the comics, should you wish them to do so, and also will be sketching away for your amusement. MikeyB will be there with his "Suggest-a-Sketch" game should you want to"suggest-a-sketch" to him. News 23/09/07 With our GHOSTS anthology currently at an American printers Ka-Blam (which incidentally has been having problems) we're hoping it's printed, delivered and ready at the BICS on 13-14 Oct 2007. This is by far our best work and many of us have come leaps and bounds in terms of our artwork. Also there are photos that have been uploaded onto myspace.com of our meeting in July 2007 to give you a glimpse into what we do and the artwork we produced. It's just an experimental idea that may continue... certainly regular updates on sketches we do at these meetings. They shall be uploaded onto our myspace blog soon as well News 28/07/07 Things are under way for our third antholgy comic and this time it's on the theme of GHOSTS. This should be available in time for the BICS (Birmingham International Comics Show). There's even talk of us getting our own MC² banner this year! Also we have a group on Myspace now. Feel free to visit it and post comments, tell us you love us, tell us you hate us, tell us what you'd like to see us tackle in our next comic. See the group here News 25/05/07 Quick update... check out the photos in the Convention Appearances section of this site or view them on our Myspace page. - Mikey News 11/05/07 The Midlands Comic Collective has a new comic out! It's available at the Bristol Comic Expo on 12-13 May 2007. So come see us and grab yourself a copy! This one WON'T be available in the shops but more likely just at convention appearances. See you at Bristol! News 18/04/07 We have an announcement to make.... If all goes well we'll have a second comic to sell at the Bristol Comic Expo. A name for such a comic hasn't been decided as yet.
